This document intends to collect the potential of the Andalusian entities within the 6th call for proposals of the Seventh Framework Programme in “Food, Agriculture and Fisheries and Biotechnology” (FP7-KBBE-2012).
In Andalusia, “Food, Agriculture and Fisheries and Biotechnology” represents one of the main economic activities. The agricultural sector in Andalusia accounts for 4.5% of the Gross Value Added and employs 9% of the active population, figures that both double and triple the Spanish and European records, respectively. In addition, Andalusia is the second Spanish region in number of biotech companies and represents 15% of Spain Agroindustry, only behind Catalonia.
The motivation of this document for CITAndalucía has been to turn the interests and needs in research and development of Andalusian entities involved in this field into opportunities for short-term collaboration in FP7 projects.
The document gathers the Expressions of Interests (EoI) of several Andalusian entities in different topics funded under the call for proposals FP7-KBBE-2012 and includes the description of each entity and the expertise they offer within the specific topic. These EoIs are listed according to the reference of each topic.
